The Mizel Museum Artist Alliance In order to reflect its more professional and international scope, after five years of growth in membership, expansion in programming and exhibitions, CJAG changed its name, but not its mission. The Mizel Museum Artist Alliance is an artist-centered, membership-driven organization that fosters communication, promotes the art of its members and creates interaction and community among Colorado Jewish Artists. From the time of its inception in February of 2004, the Mizel Museum Artist Alliance (formerly CJAG) has sought to bring together a proud community of talented Jewish artists for support, education, exhibition and sales opportunities. The group has grown from 6 founding members in 2003, to a membership of 215 artists. MMAA invites and embraces Jewish artists outside of Colorado and will continue to highlight local artists and their cultural contributions. All artist members will have the opportunity to participate with the Alliance through artist workshops, outings, professional development classes, lectures, an internet gallery, and group exhibitions and sales. Our goals and concept have not changed! The evolution of CJAG into the Mizel Museum Artist Alliance will impact artist members positively both individually and collectively. By opening the group to non-Colorado artists, MMAA intends to host exhibits, sales and workshops of Jewish artists from around the country while continuing to curate exhibits and produce activities outside Colorado. We are excited about introducing this model of a museum-supported Jewish artist group on a national level!
