| What is Bridges of Understanding? The Bridges of Understanding programs consist of three individual multicultural exhibits that teach participants through an interactive presentation of unique themes, and rituals from six different cultures including African/African American, Asian Pacific, Hispanic/Latino, Jewish, Muslim, and Native American cultures. Curriculum guides are available to supplement the presentations with related educational programs from each culture. Rites of Passage and Ceremonies and Festivals six exhibit cases are on wheels and are approximately 6’4” high and open to approximately 6’ wide. Mizel Museum educators can come to your location to lead scheduled group programs. The Bridges of Understanding curriculum guides fulfill Colorado Model Content Standards in several areas. The Tikkun Olam: Repairing the World exhibition consists of fourteen free standing columns approximately 7’ high and can be delivered to your school or organization. | Bridges of Understanding Traveling Exhibition ![]() Five reversible panels representing both Rites of Passage and Ceremonies and Festivals programs can be brought to your school by a Mizel Museum educator for scheduled group programs as well as for world awareness or diversity days for your school or organization. |
Bridges of Understanding For The Very Young During this interactive program, children learn about cultures using imagination and art. Experience cultures with a trip to a Jewish wedding, an Egyptian bazaar, listening to African instruments, learning about the Japanese Tea Ceremony or celebrating Latin style at a Quinceañera birthday party. Request and schedule a program at your location for groups of five to 10 children. Ideal for play groups and pre-schools that wish to tailor the presentation to a specific culture. Programs last from half an hour to one hour. Cost is $5 per child. MazelTot discount applies to children five and under. For more information call the Mizel Museum at 303-394-9993 ext. 103 to register. MazelTot is a Rose Community Foundation grant initiative to connect young families to Jewish life and to each other. Twenty-nine Denver/ Boulder Jewish agencies and synagogues are receiving grants to offer discounts on programs for expectant parents and families with children under age five.
