The Mizel Museum and Congregation Kohelet present Ann Lederer Art Exhibition Opens July 21 Opening Night Reception with the Artist July 21 | 5:00 - 7:00 pm Congretation Kohelet, 428 S. Forest St., Denver Ann Lederer is a silk painter, photographer, cross-cultural consultant, and community activist. Ann works with the natural beauty and energy of a moment to capture the spontaneity and essence of a client, theme or the medium and image. Her work includes wall hangings such as the "Tree of Life" which hangs in the sancturary of Congegation B'nai Havurah and "Aylee, Aylee," on display at Hillel, University of Denver. Volunteer for the Denver JCC Maccabi Games "Day of Caring and Sharing"
Training session, July 7 at JCC, 350 Dahlia St. On "The Day of Caring and Sharing," the Mizel Museum will sponsor the creation of murals for the internationally recognized, Art Miles Mural. With the help of Mizel Museum Advisory Board Member and artist, Bruce Gomez, the mural will be painted by visiting teen athletes. Volunteers can also help paint shoes for the "Shoes of Hope" project. CALL FOR OBJECTS The Mizel Museum is seeking objects, artifacts and contemporary artwork for its new, permanent exhibition, 4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks, slated for opening Fall 2010. Mizel Museum curator, Georgina Kolber, is searching for privately owned Jewish objects, Jewish artifacts and or contemporary Jewish artwork to enhance an exciting new exhibition about Jewish life and culture that will bring cultural awareness to local citizens and visitors. The museum is particularly interested in ritual objects about Torah stories, haggadot or sidurrim of unusual derivation, Jewish pioneer pieces and unique objects that tell the story of the Jewish Diaspora.
