Creative Sundays Workshop: Present-day Amulets

We’ll study images and phrases in the ancient tradition of Jewish blessing amulets from North Africa and the Near East, and create our own using watercolor, collage and embossed tin. Santa Fe based artist/educator Lia Rosen is known for her custom Clay Kodesh (Secred Vessels) that integrate ancient and contemporary Jewish ceremony with Southwestern aesthetics.

Creative Sundays Workshops are offer a means of expression and a chance to gain clarity and enjoy community during our busy lives. Modeled after our successful programs for young people, The Mizel Museum offers accessible, hands-on workshops with stellar teaching artists in a warm, inviting setting for people of all skill levels. Workshops include materials and a sumptuous lunch.
