Family Art Day at the Museum Sunday, February 21, 2010 Children ages 4 and up and Families 1:00 pm – 2:30 | Children: $7 | Adults: $10 2 or more children $5/child (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Spend quality and memorable time with your kids. Professional artist, Claudia Roulier, will explore paint and collage techniques with children and parents. Bridges of Understanding For The Very Young During this interactive program, children learn about cultures using imagination and art. Experience cultures with a trip to a Jewish wedding, an Egyptian bazaar, listening to African instruments, learning about the Japanese Tea Ceremony or celebrating Latin style at a Quinceañera birthday party. Request and schedule a program at your location for groups of five to 10 children. Ideal for play groups and pre-schools that wish to tailor the presentation to a specific culture. Programs last from half an hour to one hour. Cost is $5 per child. MazelTot discount applies to children five and under. Twenty-nine Denver/ Boulder Jewish agencies and synagogues are receiving grants to offer discounts on programs for expectant parents and families with children under age five. Mizel Museum Annual Bookmark Contest The theme of the 9th Annual Bookmark contest is “My Family” For Grades Kindergarten – Second Grade and Third Grade-Fifth Grade. Prizes will be awarded. Entry forms will be available September 15 – November 1, 2009 Following the Bridges of Understanding theme, the Mizel Museum’s educational goal is to teach children about all people in our world. Now in its ninth year, the Mizel Museum Annual Bookmark Contest helps bring understanding about how people are interconnected. Using the Bridges of Understanding exhibition and program to educate and build awareness for students about other cultural traditions, students enjoy hands-on activities that can include video, music and art projects.
