Join the Mizel Museum and the JCC Denver for the 14th Annual Klezfest. This year, we’re bringing the music to a new home: the Tivoli Turnhalle on the Auraria Campus, where the energy and rhythm of klezmer will light up the season. Enjoy unforgettable performances by Hal Aqua and The Lost Tribe, Rabbi Joe Black, MishMish, and Gora Gora Orkestar.

Make a night of it! Sip drinks at the bar, enjoy complimentary light appetizers, and explore the Denver Christkindlmarket right outside — perfect for festive bites before or after the show. (Even Santa loves klezmer!)

Parking Information:

When registering for the event, guests may pre-pay $8.25 to park at any lot on the Auraria Campus. Pre-payment ensures the best rate. On-site parking without pre-payment is available for $25 for the evening, subject to availability.

Hal Aqua and The Lost Tribe

Local klez favorites Hal Aqua and The Lost Tribe play klezmer and Yiddish fusion music — an exuberant musical experience, rooted firmly in traditional Jewish modes and melodies and driven by contemporary rhythms and danceable grooves. The band’s versatile musicians have a deep respect for their source material, from the evocative tunes of Eastern European Jews and Roma to the sinuous rhythms of the Middle East and Mediterranean. Their songs draw equally from the Yiddish tradition of social action, the spiritual fervor of Chasidic music, and the get-off-your-butt-and-dance party vibe of a Jewish wedding.

Personnel: Hal Aqua (guitar, mandolin, vocals); Annie Aqua (violin, vocals); Ben Cohen (accordion, bass, vocals); Michael Paff (drums, percussion); and Miriam Rosenblum (clarinet, tin whistle, recorder).
